But another problem might pop up if someone recommends Kentucky Burgoo as a menu choice. Don't panic, it's just a regional stew dish.

If seafood is what you crave then head to the KingFish Restaurant, 3401 Bardstown Rd, 502-459-1432.
If you feel like treating yourself a little bit head to local favorite, Jack Fry's, 1007 Bardstown Rd, 502-452-0244.Here you will find goodies like lobster pot pie, crimson snapper, wild mushroom burgers, and toffee brownies and chocolate souffle cake to finish your meal with a smile.
Another local and Southern Living's Off the Eaten Path favorite is Lynn's Paradise Cafe, 984 Barret, 502-583-3447, open for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Here you'll be tempted by wonderful dishes like Kenny's Kentucky breakfast scramble, B & L hash browns, bourbon ball French toast, BLT fries, pan fried pecan chicken and the Paradise hot brown.
And you aren't done yet. The locals, along with Southern Living's Off the Eaten Path, also love the classic hot brown and mint juleps served at The Brown Hotel, 335 West Broadway, 502-583-1234. If you are stopping by during lunch you might also consider either their express or full lunch buffets, offered Tuesday-Friday from 11:30-1:30.
If you enjoy a relaxing cup of tea, you'll want to spend some time at the White Line Tea Company, 1325 Bardstown Rd, 502-456-0747. For a great breakfast, drop in at the Blue Dog Bakery & Cafe, 2868 Frankfort Ave, 502-899-9800 or just take home one of their yummy loaves of bread to snack on later. Another great breakfast choice is Toast, 736 E Market St, 502-567-4099, where you'll find yummy choices like lemon souffle pancakes or The King--a peanut butter and banana fried sandwich.
Does the sight of a happy little donut heading toward your mouth make you smile? Then you need to rush on over to Krispy Creme Donuts, 3000 Bardstown Rd, 502-451-4880 to buy a sack of grin makers. Rather scream for ice cream?
Then you'll want to head to the Homemade Ice Cream & Pie Kitchen, 2525 Bardstown Rd, 502-459-8184; (which puts you in the fun to explore Tyler District) or at 1370 Veterans Pkwy, Clarksville, IN, 812-288-6000. But before you go let me give you fair warning--this was some of the best ice cream and cake I've ever had. So if you are planning on staying in Louisville for more than a couple of days plan on packing your big pants cause you will find an excuse to go every day! Another good choice is Gaeter's Ice Cream, 2204 Bardstown Rd, 502-451-0044.
