If you want to be central to Baltimore, Lancaster, Hershey,
Gettysburg, and Washington, DC then stop in at Morris Meadows,
1523 Freeland Rd, I-83 exit 36, follow signs, Freeland, MD, 410-329-6636.
At this Holiday Trav-L-Park, you'll find nice wide sites, full
hookups, some pull-thrus, winterized sites with individual heaters
and shelters, cable TV, phone hookups, dump, laundry, grocery
store, tables, fire rings, a recreation hall, swimming pool,
pond fishing, playground, and a handicap site with private restroom.
You'll also enjoy knowing that the land on which this campground
now sits was given to the Morris family in a 1773 land grant.
The current owner, Cylde Morris, is holding onto history with
a wonderful collection of antiques.
Another choice, that puts you between Baltimore and Washington,
DC, is the Little Bennett Regional Park, 23701 Frederick Rd.,
Clarksburg, MD, 301-972-9222. Here you'll find wooded sites,
a 18-hole golf course and driving range, wide sites, electric
hookups, restrooms, dump, laundry, tables, grills, playground,
horseshoes, and hiking trails. Though this camp has been recommended
because it is clean and well-maintained it does not have room
for slideouts and is only open April 1 through October 31.
