You're just a hop, skip, and a jump from Detroit where you'll find the Detroit Historical Museum, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Museum of African American History, the Motown Historical Museum, the Pewabic Pottery Museum, the Detroit Zoological Park, and the Renaissance Center with fine dining and shopping.

You are also less than one hundred miles from Frankenmuth, Michigan. Founded by German missionary families in 1845, this little town has become a major tourist draw because of its old world charm. As you wander its streets, you'll want to explore the 100 unique shops, take photos of the gingerbread Bavarian architecture, and work up an appetite so you can enjoy the great food at the Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn, 713 S Main, 989-652-9941, or Zehnder's of Frankenmuth, 730 S Main, 989-652-0400.. If you are going to be traveling here during June, call the Frankenmuth Convention and Visitors Bureau, 800-FUN-TOWN, and find out when the Bavarian Festival is going to be held. This is a huge festival with German music and dancing, an arts and crafts pavilion, and yummy food booths.
