Sciple's Water Mill
Sciple Mill Rd off 39 Hwy
601-743-2295
A visit to the Old Water Mill Opry House about 7:30 pm on a Saturday night will give you a chance to step back in time for some down home picking and singing. Don't worry if your foot starts to tapping. They won't mind if you get up and dance the night away. Better yet, right across the street, you'll find the Sciple Water Mill. Built in 1790, it is the oldest continuously operating water mill in the country. But to see inside, you'll have to come during the day, when six days a week, they still grind corn into grits and fish fry coating.
