If you're planning to take a side trip to Yellowstone you'll find it only 176 miles away from Helena.
History buffs won't mind driving one hundred and thirty miles to Fort Benton, MT where they will find the Museum of the Upper Missouri, the Museum of the Northern Great Plains, foundations of some of the old fort buildings at Old Fort Park, historical statues and a replica keelboat at Levee Park along the Missouri River, and wilderness float trips covering some of the same territory as Lewis and Clark.
