Just 25 miles to your north off I-43 you'll find Port Washington, Wisconsin. Here you can spend a fun day charter fishing, wander through the shops on Franklin Street, buy some fresh fish to take back to the rig at Smith Brothers Fish Market, or let the great cooks at George's Wilson House prepare the fresh catch of the day for you.

Also close by, you'll find the East Troy Electric Railroad Museum, 2002 Church St., East Troy, WI, about 35 miles from Milwaukee, call for hours, 262-642-3263. A trip here will give you a chance to hop on a restored trolley and take a ten- mile trip through Wisconsin's beautiful countryside.

If you love interesting architecture, you won't mind making the 2+ hour trip to Spring Green, WI and the House on the Rock, Hwy. 23, P O Box 555, March 27-October 31 open daily, its best to call ahead to confirm it will be open, 608-935-3639. This amazing house was designed and built by Alex Jordan and a peek into this structure will give you a chance to see not only the interior but also the surrounding gardens which add to the homes uniqueness.

Ever dream of running away to join the circus or the Navy? Then you'll want to make the short drives to the Circus World Museum, and the Wisconsin Maritime Museum. At the Circus World Museum, 46 Water St., Baraboo, WI, about two hours away, 608-356-0800, you'll find the original winter quarters of the Ringling Brothers Circus with exhibits, the world's largest wagon collection, rare circus art, Clown College (the only one of its kind in the world), and memorabilia about circus life. During the summer months you'll also find shows, demonstrations, attractions, rides, and exhibits to entertain you.

Those of you who thought face paint was for sissies while white bell bottoms were keen, will want to head to the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, 75 Maritime Dr., Manitowoc, WI, about 84 miles from Milwaukee, 920-684-0218. Here you can tour the authentic WWII submarine USS Cobia, wonder at the details at the Model Ship Gallery, and visit the gift shop for maritime goodies.

Do you love jelly beans? Then you'll find happiness just 36 miles south of Milwauke in the town of Pleasant Prairie at the Jelly Belly Center, 10100 Jelly Belly Center, 866-868-7522. A visit here will give you a chance to take a 30 minute tour on their Jelly Belly Express Train where you'll learn about making jelly beans, gummies, and taffy. Plus you'll get a chance to enjoy a chorus line of Jelly Belly's dancing around and then spend some time giving in to temptation at huge retail store stocked with all 100 kinds of candy made by the Jelly Belly folks.
